Today as I scrolled my Instagram I saw this quote:
"No {wo}man was ever great by imitation" -Samuel Johnson
It stopped me because I have an "I can do that" spirit, which when you boil it down, is just copying someone
else. I often wrestle with making real art that isn’t just imitation.
I think there is a connection between the above quote and another one:
"Comparison is the thief of joy" -Theodore Roosevelt
So my goal moving forward is to not imitate or compare myself to anyone else and find some real joy in creating in that space. Any tips?
