Labels: helpful or limiting?
For quick identification, they prove quite useful. For analytical thinking, they have the potential to trip
us up.
In a recent interaction I had with some software, the building blocks were categorized with labels. While the labels organized the elements, they weren't completely inclusive of the
usefulness of each element. In the end, I chose to use an element for an application other than it's labeled intent.
As problem solvers, we can all choose how we deal with labels. Either we use
them at face value, or we broaden our perspective and open up our possibilities..
