If I told you there was a chance you could save 50+ lives, would you want to? Not save them from danger or
injury, but rather save them from death.
Would you value their lives over your own ideals? Would you set your preferences aside? Would you put yourself at risk?
When the questions are framed like
this the answers seem simple. Most people would reply, "of course" to most, if not all these questions.
When the specific "costs" are layered in something changes though. For many, human life loses its value when we're asked to compromise our own preferences.
