I'm a fan of hugs. This is not an altogether popular opinion at work. I respect this perspective but I often feel like they are missing out. Recently, I came across an article that proves that there is scientific benefits to
hugging.
- Hugging decreases the release of cortisol (bye stress!)
- Hugging lowers blood pressure and slows the heart rate in stressful situations
- And hugging strengthens the immune system
Beyond these amazing health benefits, it makes us feel connected as humans. In a world that's becoming more disconnected and technologically communicative, we could use all the physical connection we can get!
