"Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a desire fulfilled is a tree of life."
This quote comes from the old testament book of
Proverbs. While we wait for our second daughter to arrive, this rings true to me. Each time I receive a text from Lindsay or hear her unsettled in the middle of the night, my heart skips a beat in excitement.
With each of these moments of deferred hope, my heart grows anxious. However, I'm resting in the knowledge that when our baby arrives, she'll bring us greater joy than all the pain the deferred hope created.
